How Toilet Stains Can Offend a Modern Woman

Funny the things a mundane google search will turn up. In this article about cleaning toilet rust stains we find Tiffany who is offended by the accompanying article photo:
"I can not even believe the picture that went along with this article. As a full time working professional woman it really bothers me. Please join us in 2007."
The offending photo:

The responses to Tiffany were right on:
Lisa ---"As a woman in 2009 (or 2007) you should be confident enough in yourself to not be bothered by antiquated images of housewives cleaning toilets."

Tom---"Now I’m wondering what Tiffany’s toilet looks like. As a hard-working professional woman, Tiffany probably has little time to clean her toilet. And she spends a lot of time being mad. On second thought, I don’t think I want to see Tiffany’s toilet."
Funny thing about cleaning is that no matter how feminist you are, it still needs to be done. And if you are a single working professional woman all the more likely you, a woman, will be cleaning the toilet yourself.

This reminds me of my marriage. We divided the responsibilities, as is done in all marriages, and we helped each other whenever possible. However, if my ex-wife ever had to do things like make dinner or clean the kitchen without my help, she became nasty.

I knew what it was about. Feminism had taught her that traditional gender roles were bad, so if she ever found herself acting in a traditional wife's role it upset her.

She didn't mind (actually she insisted) that I opened doors for her, paid for our dates while dating, or became the sole breadwinner while she stayed home. It was all fine, as long as any actual work she did by herself wasn't traditional housewife-type stuff.

She was an a-la-carte feminist, which boils down to someone who is selfish, prone to misandry, and can't think for themselves or see the world for what it really is.

Good grief, even feminist Barbara Ehrenreich never wanted anyone else to clean her toilets. She said it's just not the kind of connection she wants with another human being :S
